Editing pages in any wiki is really easy: you just click edit and then type your text. If you want to format it though, you'll need to learn the ways that Surveywiki formats text. These are really simple. Just putting an asterisk and a space before a line of text, for example, will give you a bullet point.

Surveywiki uses exactly the same wiki engine as Wikipedia. If you see it on Wikipedia, it's possible to do it in Surveywiki... at least technically! So, let that be your inspiration.

To learn the different ways to format wiki text, try some of these ideas:

  • find a page on Surveywiki that has formatting you want to learn, click edit and look at what characters the editor has used to make that formatting
  • See Wikipedia's Cheatsheet to learn some of the most commonly used formatting
  • For more detailed formatting, try looking at Wikipedia's Wiki Markup page.
  • To get some practice without breaking anything, mess around in Wikipedia's Sandbox.
